Blessing to you all, my name is Lorna Ellis, Beside being a business owner I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, sharing a meals, going on fun adventures and just sitting around talking about the fun times we shared in Jamaica. I participate in different events in the community, The Caribbean festival, The Authentic Caribbean Foundation, volunteer as a CASA representative ( Advocate for children) , and I organized a fashion shows for all ages to attend and participate in. I have the spirit and heart of giving and sharing love to all.

Q: Please tell us about your current career and what you love most about what you do?
I am a Seamstress and clothing store business owner. I love helping people find their perfect attire for their special events. I love restyling clothing to fit the customers needs. The smile on their faces is priceless.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Worcester, and what is your favorite dish?
Aretha’s Restaurant and Caribbean Flaavour. Favorite dish is Jerk Chicken dinner /Seafood diner at Aretha Restaurant and Oxtails dinner at Caribbean Flaavour

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met?
I met Late great Jamaican artist Dennis Brown (aka Crown Prince of Reggae) , Shaggy reggae artist, and met few of the Marley family.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Germany, visit family that live there.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I love Jazz and Blues band. Old School Reggae music

Q: What is your best advice?
To always honest with yourself and with others. Truth go along way.

Q: What are the top three on your Bucket List?
1- Go on a 30 day cruise. 2- Go to California 3- See the Statue of Liberty in person

Q: What current/former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Worcester, and why?
Filene Basement in the Worcester Galleria . This store was designed for everyone in Worcester and Worcester County. This is how I based my business for this vision as well.

Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative with whom would you love to have lunch, and why?
I would like to have lunch with Michelle Obama. I like how she handles work-life balance and she very straight forward about herself, like me.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In the next 5 to 10 years I see myself teaching sewing skills to adults and young individuals of all genders, as this is a dying skill and it’s a much needed skill.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you, even your friends or family.
I was once a volunteer DJ on Reggae show for WCUW 91.3 FM radio in Worcester, MA 11pm – 12pm midnight

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Place of sanctuary, relation and stability.

Q: If a motion picture was made of your life, what actor/actress would you choose to play you?
The actress that I choose to play me is Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Worcester?
The thing I love about Worcester is the diversity of the city.

Q: What is your favorite smell?
My favorite smell is lavender.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My two Grand-daughters inspire me to be better than I am now.
