You can find me on Unity radio 97.9 FM Worcester’s Community Connection every Friday at 3:00 with my show Stand-Ups and Stand-Outs. Thick Chick Comedy, Serenity Jones, dubbed Worcester’s Main Squeeze started doing comedy on a dare. Ironically enough in my elementary School yearbook for what you want to be when you grow up, I had put stand-up comic, so now I feel like I’m chasing a childhood dream. I got my start by emceeing Hip Hop shows, and it is there where I found my voice. What I am most proud of is that through my comedy I’ve been able to give back. Through telling jokes, I’ve been able to supply 970 meals to families with food insecurities, as well as sponsor a youth baseball team and help them get to a tournament in New York. I just feel as though the city has given me so much that is an honor to be able to give back.
Please tell us about your current career and what you love most about what you do?
Stand Up Comic/Booker- I get the most joy by making others laugh and entertaining.
What is your favorite restaurant in Worcester, and what is your favorite dish?
One Eyed Jack’s steak tips- they are the best!
Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met?
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Def Jam comedy artist, Hamburger. Anytime you have an opportunity to work with a legend like this, you can learn a lot.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
County Cork, Ireland that is where my family is originally from.
What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Cindi Lauper
What is your best advice?
Treat others as you’d like to be treated.
What is one of the top three items on your Bucket List?
To own a muscle car.
What current/former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Worcester?
The Boulevard Diner whether it’s at 2:00 in the morning after going out all night or whether it’s for Sunday breakfast.
Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative with whom would you love to have lunch? Why?
Joan Rivers, she is such an iconic woman comic.
Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I have a goal to do a show at the Hanover theater and a live filming.
What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you, even your friends or family.
I can’t tell you that cuz then everyone would know.

If a motion picture was made of your life, what actor/actress would you choose to play you?
Never thought about it.
What is your favorite thing or something unique about Worcester?
I love the melting pot of people. Worcester is so diverse.
What is your favorite smell?
Fresh laundry out of the dryer.
Who inspires you to be better?
I’m constantly pushing myself to do better. I celebrate my wins, but I know that there’s a long way to go.
