Hello!
I’m Kellie! A surgical intensive care nurse and holistic nutrition coach here in Worcester. I assist busy individuals in lowering their BMI, improving lab values, and helping prevent and manage chronic diseases by incorporating more whole food centered nutrition into one’s diet.

Please tell us about your current career and what you love most about what you do?
By night, I work in the ICU at Umass. By day, I run A Better Path to Wellness, a holistic nutrition coaching business I started during the pandemic. I enjoy blending my two passions to help people get holistic patient centered care. I arm people with the resources they need in and out of the kitchen, to make sustainable positive changes in their health.

What is your favorite restaurant in Worcester, and what is your favorite dish?
It’s hard to pick one favorite. I enjoy many dishes from Bacado, Russos, & Kinichi depending what I’m craving when I go out to dine.

Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met?
I met a couple on a train ride in Colorado who were professors at Colorado State University. They both spent a lot of time on a boat traveling the world with students during the semester at sea program. They shared their travels with me and how I could do something similar. They were one of the most fascinating couples I have ever encountered.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I have always wanted to go to Bali and Thailand. I will get there someday but right now sounds pretty good. I want to go to Bali to experience the exotic jungle and pristine beaches. The beaches intrigue me in Thailand as well, as my old boss would rave about them, the food and the culture. I, however, want to go and experience Muay Thai at its origin since I have a passion for the sport.

What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I love classic rock. Usually an 80’s hair band will do the trick when I can’t figure out what I want to listen to in that moment.

What is your best advice?
If you live your life by the Four Agreements, you can live a happy and fulfilled life. If you haven’t read the book it’s life changing.

What is one of the top three items on your Bucket List?
I would like to sail around a large portion of the world.

What current/former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Worcester?
Madulka’s ice cream has always been a go to spot for me.

Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative with whom would you love to have lunch? Why?
I feel like I would enjoy the company and conversation of Dwane Johnson. His story and career are inspiring.

Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself owning and operating a wellness center I designed. I want to have a one stop shop for health and wellness under one roof. A subscription for all the health tools one could want in their tool box.

What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you, even your friends or family.
I enjoy a good self care routine. I think even the smallest forms of self care are important for mental and physical well-being.

What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Warm, laughs, love

If a motion picture was made of your life, what actor/actress would you choose to play you?
Kate Hudson (tell her she will need a wig)

What is your favorite thing or something unique about Worcester?
I love that this city is so centrally located. I enjoy being able to go to the cape for a day or up to New Hampshire or down to Newport.

What is your favorite smell?
Fresh baked apple pie

Who inspires you to be better?
My clients/patients. A broken medical model and people who deserve a better quality of care is who inspires me. I strive to be what they deserve and make the changes needed in quality care.
