I am a 60 year old women who has lived and worked in the Worcester area my entire life. Having lived off Shrewsbury Street most of my life , as my family did , I have enjoyed the spirit of community . It has also been exciting to watch Shrewsbury Street grow, change and embrace new cultures over the past several years. Of course, I am Italian , but like many, I am half Irish! Therefore, I have also been active in the Irish Community as a member of the St Patrick’s Parade in Worcester, The Emerald Club and other organizations including my church, St. Columba in Paxton. I have enjoyed many local activities and love to volunteer for charities in Worcester. One place near and dear is the Mustard Seed, where I have gone with different groups including Notre Dame Long Term Care with a hot meal.

Please tell us about your current career and what you love most about what you do?
I am working at Notre Dame Long Term Care as the Admissions and Marketing Director. I am first off a social worker and have been able to provide support in helping elders and their families navigate the complex issues of aging. That is what I love about my job.

What is your favorite restaurant in Worcester, and what is your favorite dish?
Mare E Monti- My favorite dish is Pappardelle Alla Bolognese. But of course, there are so many great places to eat!

Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met?
Francis McGrath, the former City Manager I always enjoyed visiting him with my mother as a young person. He always took sincere interest in everything we talked about .

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would like to travel to Italy with my family to see our family there and where my grandfather lived.

What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
U2

What is your best advice?
Stay Positive; it always works out in the end.

What is one of the top three items on your Bucket List?
Visit Italy, Ireland and sing the National Anthem at some sporting event!

What current/former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Worcester?
I love Table Talk Pie and enjoy seeing the longevity of their success. I also have to say, The El Morraco was wonderful. We would eat there, dance and just have fun! A great time.

Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative with whom would you love to have lunch? Why?
I would love to have lunch with Michele Obama. I admire her for her strength and grace as first lady.

Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Retired and volunteering at local programs when not traveling across the country

What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you, even your friends or family.
I was a lifeguard at East Park and a basketball coach at Venerini Academy.

What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Family, Kitchen and Front Porch

If a motion picture was made of your life, what actor/actress would you choose to play you?
Julie Louis-Dreyfus because she is funny and clumsy. She can find the humor in herself as well.

What is your favorite thing or something unique about Worcester?
The three decker is unique to Worcester. It was a great way to live. Our doors were never locked, and we enjoyed living with family and friends.

What is your favorite smell?
A Sunday Gravy

Who inspires you to be better?
My family past and present inspire me to do better. They are all just really good friends and neighbors who put our community first. Many work as public servants and or volunteer for many programs.
